School Uniform

SCHOOL UNIFORM

At Kingsway, uniform is compulsory.  Wearing a uniform sets a boundary by placing children in a 'working environment' mindset and helps them separate their home and school life. School uniform places all children on a level playing field, reducing the pressure to wear the latest fashionable brands and therefore removing additional pressure on families. There is no expectation that families buy branded uniform items, generic more affordable items are absolutely acceptable. We do not partner with a specific retailer and would encourage families to purchase our uniform from any affordable retailer, including from second-hand retailers. Our agreed uniform, is detailed below. Families are reminded to contact school if they are having any issues sourcing uniform items.

Jewellery

For health and safety reasons, children can only wear small stud earrings. We will ask children to remove these items during P.E or other physical activities. If studs cannot be removed by the child, parents should do this at the start of the school day or cover their studs with plasters/medical tape on their PE day.

Any pupil who wishes to have their ears pierced should do so during the summer holidays when they have adequate healing time; ear piercing should not be done during term time.

Hair Accessories

  • Small, simple bobble and/or headband

Lost Property

Naming all items of clothing makes it much easier to reunite children with lost items.

We do keep lost property for a reasonable period of time, but it is often difficult to identify items that are not labelled.  If your child has lost something, please check in their classroom first, then check in the lost property box.
